Denver Solar Rebates, Incentives, and Tax Credits

Federal:  There is a 30% Investment Tax Credit for solar which been beefed up in 2009 and doesn’t have a cap. This is a tax credit (better than a deduction) equal to 30% of your out-of-pocket expense when going solar.

State: Xcel Energy, Colorado’s largest utility, provides up to a $3.50 per watt incentive for residential solar energy.

Municipal Financing: Legislation allowing solar and other energy efficiency improvements to be financed through property taxes has been enabled in Boulder through the Climate Smart Loan Program.  Hopefully, additional municipal financing programs will soon become available throughout Colorado.

The rebates, coupled with the 1BOG discount and excellent sun exposure, make this the best time to go solar in Colorado!
